The making of an Akubra hat has changed very little in over 120 years. Our people are the key ingredient in the process, along with the machinery that has helped create millions of hats.

We start with fur and using pressure, heat and water an Akubra hat slowly takes shape. During the making of an Akubra hat it is handled more than 60 times. In a time when fashion is fast, we think our hands-on approach makes every Akubra hat we make pretty special.

FOR AN ENDURING FIT WITH YOUR NEW AKUBRA THE FOLLOWING POINTS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED:

The Sheepskin inner band of the hat may shrink slightly with use. Do not expect a tight-fitting hat to 'loosen up'In time, the hat will conform to your head shape. Initially, a slightly loose-fitting hat can be adjusted using folded tissue placed behind the inner band, then removed as the hat conforms to your head shape.
